|What could I use interest free for?||Shopping, booking a flight or accommodation, concert tickets, unplanned expenses – anything over $250 on Visa, anywhere, anytime.||Selected retailers across electrical, furniture, bedding, computers, tyres, jewellery, exercise equipment, bikes, dental, vision correction, non-surgical cosmetic and even veterinary care.|
|How do I get interest free start-up?||When you make a Visa purchase over $250, you'll automatically receive 6 months interest free.||
New customers: Get pre-approval online, complete an Identification Verification Form and take this form along with your photo ID to your local PostShop so we can verify your identification. Once you've done this, you can shop without your card – you just need to take your account number and ID into store with you. Your card will arrive within 5–10 days.
Existing customers: Simply present your card in one of 2,500 stores across New Zealand where Gem Visa is accepted and spend up to your available credit limit.
|How do I keep track of purchases?||You'll receive a monthly statement outlining your Gem Visa promotional purchases together with all your other account transactions.||Your monthly statement will also highlight any unexpired promotional purchases as well as the outstanding balance and promotion expiry date, so you know how much to pay to avoid paying interest.|
|Are payments required?||
Any payments you need to make will be clearly shown on your statement. The amounts will be determined by your purchase and any related payment terms, the transaction type, and how you’d like to manage your finances.
If you don’t wish to pay your closing balance off in full, you must at least pay any minimum monthly payment as set out in your statement – the minimum monthly payment is:
You must make the minimum monthly payment by the due date. You may choose to pay more than the minimum payment. Only making the minimum monthly payment may extend the time taken to clear your balance and cost you more. Always read your statement carefully to keep track of your transactions and any related promotional expiry periods.
